Xilinx provides a complete line of prototyping boards to help you develop and test design concepts using Xilinx FPGA devices. These boards have been designed to work with a wide range of Xilinx FPGAs, include test point access to every pin on the FPGA, and include a generous prototyping area. Xilinx offer two families of prototype boards geared toward the Virtex, Virtex-II, and Virtex-II Pro series of devices. Xilinx Distributors and third party vendors also provide evaluation boards that demonstrate the advanced features available in Virtex, Virtex-E, Virtex-II, and Virtex-II Pro FPGAs.

The Xilinx XLVDS board has been exhibited in several technology conference featuring two XLVDS boards transmiting RapidIO packets across a cable at 4 Gbps in each direction.
