Description:: The PowerStream 6100 system is a fully integrated multicomputer that combines a mature and sophisticated software development environment with RapidIO switch fabric communications, quad MPC7448 PowerPC modules, FPGA compute capability, and a broad set of I/O options in a serial RapidIO VXS (VITA 41.2) chassis infrastructure. PowerStream 6100 systems deliver new levels of interprocessor bandwidth in a 6U form factor, combined with the high performance and scalability that characterize Mercury solutions. The system provides over 42 GB/s of sustained aggregate bandwidth and over 24 GB/s bisection bandwidth via the RapidIO switch fabric. Defense electronics applications in intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) can move to greater heights of effectiveness with increased processing density using the PowerStream 6100's immense signal processing power. VITA 41.2 defines the mapping for serial RapidIO over the VXS P0 connector and is the implementation used in PowerStream 6100 systems. The VXS standard simplifies the migration of existing VME systems to solutions that can support next-generation requirements without abandoning legacy modules.
