- Description:
- PowerStream® 6100 host/carrier module provides flexible I/O capability and system host support.
The host/carrier module supports two 64-bit, 66 MHz PMC sites and can serve as the system host running Linux®, VxWorks®, or the Mercury MCexec POSIX-compliant real-time kernel. The host/carrier module is available configured with either a single PowerPC® 8540 processor or, for a performance upgrade, dual MPC7448 PowerPC processors. The PCI bus for each PMC module site is bridged to the system's serial RapidIO fabric by the dual PCI-to-serial RapidIO® bridges (DPSB). This PCI bridging allows each PMC site to have its own PCI bus segment.
PowerStream 6100 systems are designed to the system level, with a rich set of fully integrated modules that can be flexibly scaled and combined in a variety of configurations to meet a broad range of defense embedded application requirements. PowerStream 6100 modules are designed to function together in a 6U VXS chassis. A maximum processing power configuration consists of 17 HCD modules, one host/carrier module with optional PMCs, and two switch card modules, although not all chassis can support this maximum configuration. The maximum PowerStream 6100 configuration supports up to 68 CNs in a single chassis, for up to 761 GFLOPS of processing (1.4 GHz version).
