Description:: The Tundra Semiconductor Tsi578 MicroTCA Switching Module (MSM) partners the technology of Ericsson, the leading wireless infrastructure provider, with Tundras industry-proven Tsi578 16/8 RapidIO switch to provide switching functionality for a MicroTCA system. The Tsi578 MSM broadens the scope of the RapidIO-based MicroTCA ecosystem.

Now available for sublicense, the Switching Module of a MicroTCA Carrier Hub (MCH) card, designed by Ericsson with Tundras Tsi578 serial RapidIO switch. Tundra sub-licenses the design as the Tsi578 MicroTCA Switching Module (MSM).

Tundra announced the industry's first Serial RapidIO switch in 2005 and subsequently launched the world's first RapidIO interoperability lab in 2006. Now, in collaboration with Ericsson, Tundra continues to build the Serial RapidIO and MicroTCA ecosystems. The Tsi578 MSM leverages the industry leading features of the Tsi578 16-port Serial RapidIO Switch and provides the switching functionality for a MicroTCA system.

Ericsson designed its MicroTCA carrier hub and associated backplane using Tundra Tsi578 Serial RapidIO switches with excellent support from Tundras technical support team. The design is used by Ericsson in ongoing development activities.
