- Description:
- The PowerStream® 6100 high compute density (HCD) module delivers extreme performance and CPU processing power.
Each HCD module has four PowerPC® compute nodes (CNs) connected by a low-latency parallel RapidIO® crossbar. Each CN includes a 1.0 GHz or 1.4 GHz MPC7448 PowerPC microprocessor, 512 MB of double data-rate (DDR) SDRAM, and Mercurys RapidIO compute node ASIC. This ASIC is both the memory controller and the interface to the RapidIO switch fabric, enabling multiple simultaneous packet-switched communications transactions among the CNs.
PowerStream 6100 systems are designed to the system level, with a rich set of fully integrated modules that can be flexibly scaled and combined in a variety of configurations to meet a broad range of defense embedded application requirements. PowerStream 6100 modules are designed to function together in a 6U VXS chassis. A maximum processing power configuration consists of 17 HCD modules, one host/carrier module with optional PMCs, and two switch card modules, although not all chassis can support this maximum configuration. The maximum PowerStream 6100 configuration supports up to 68 CNs in a single chassis, for up to 761 GFLOPS of processing (1.4 GHz version).
