RapidIO Connections - July 2002
Event Spotlight
Promoting the RapidIO Trade Association at Industry Events
The RapidIO Trade Association has been an active participant in several conference events in 2002. At the Embedded Systems Conference in San Francisco several members displayed their support by exhibiting membership signs in their booths. In April, the new RapidIO tabletop booth was unveiled at the Embedded Processor Forum held in San Jose. Our sponsorship there provided booth space and a RapidIO logo on the InStat-MDR Web site.
The trade association's next important event is the 2nd RapidIO General Membership Meeting, set to be held in Santa Clara on August 22nd. The technical and marketing working groups and the steering committee have meetings scheduled that same week, and a kick-off reception will feature a night game between the San Francisco Giants and the New York Mets on the evening of the 21st (transportation will be provided to and from the game). The agenda for the meeting includes a "RapidIO Trade Association Year in Review" presentation during which the working groups and steering committee will provide a progress report on the RapidIO technology, membership, public relations, finances and highlights from the past year will be discussed.
The final event of the year will be the Communications Design Conference, September 23-26, in San Jose. The trade association will be sponsoring booth #732 and requesting membership support from YOU in the near future!
