Tekmicro commits to expansion of family of PMC modules to include RapidIO Interconnect
Tekmicro's family of IEEE 1386.1 PMC modules are already used in some of the most demanding real-time applications which require management of relentless streams of data between sensors, storage and processing systems. The addition of a RapidIO Mezzanine Card (RMC) compatible option, once standardized by VITA 42, provides a seamless upgrade path for all of Tekmicro's existing PMC modules. With the RMC upgrade, existing interfaces can be migrated to the higher bandwidth and lower latency offered by the RapidIO Interconnect without integration risk. RMC versions of selected I/O modules will be available starting in 2003.
