Fabric Embedded Tools Corp adds Gen2 RapidIO® Switch support to their RapidFET product line

RapidFET JTAG is designed to support IDT® RapidIO switches including their most recent Gen2 CPS-1848 and CPS-1616 devices

Ottawa, Canada - June 30, 2010 - Fabric Embedded Tools Corporation (FET), the leading provider of RapidIO Network Management and Diagnostic Tools, today
announces a new addition to their RapidFET product line. RapidFET JTAG provides the
ability to directly connect to the latest Integrated Device Technology, Inc. (IDT) Gen2
RapidIO switches - and many legacy Gen1 switches - and provide read/write access to
internal registers, and EEPROM. It also monitors Performance, Errors and many higher level advanced functions such as Packet generation as well as an On-Die-Scope (ODS)
capability.
"IDT is pleased to have tools such as FET's RapidFET JTAG available to support our
customers' RapidIO hardware development and system diagnostic needs" said Stephane Gagnon, Director, Product Management at IDT. "Our customers are able to enjoy quality
commercially available tools that work directly with IDT evaluation boards as well as custom designed hardware."
"RapidFET JTAG is expected to be an excellent complement to the existing in-band
RapidIO diagnostic tools such as RapidFET Professional, and RapidFET Probe", said
Tom Cox, executive director of the RapidIO Trade Association. "Having more tools
available to the end user makes RapidIO even easier to use".
"Having quality tools available as new silicon is being sampled is critical for minimizing
time to market with new RapidIO designs" said Jim Parisien, President of Fabric
Embedded Tools Corporation. "We have been working very closely with IDT to ensure
that their RapidIO customers can get the tools they need quickly, and with a level of
quality and ease of use that they have come to expect from FET".
The RapidFET product line includes RapidFET Professional, RapidFET Probe, RapidFET Middleware, and now RapidFET JTAG. Where RapidFET Professional and Probe is geared toward system level RapidIO in-band network management and diagnostics, RapidFET JTAG is focused on out-of-band diagnostic techniques via JTAG and I2C for a specific switch. These tools closely complement each other and provide a complete RapidIO development solution.
RapidFET JTAG is being released in both a Standard and Enhanced edition. The Standard edition is available now and the Enhanced edition is expected to follow in the August timeframe. For more information, please visit www.fetcorp.com/jtag1.php or send inquiries to finfo@fetcorp.com.
