Texas Instruments Spotlights Innovative Technologies At the Global Signal Processing Conference (GSPx)

Texas Instruments Incorporated (TI), along with members of the TI DSP Third Party Network, will deliver in-depth technical presentations on several signal processing topics to attendees of the Global Signal Processing Conference (GSPx) Silicon Valley and the GSPx Multi-Core Applications Conference, held from October 30 - November 2 at the Santa Clara Convention Center. These presentations are designed to introduce and educate designers on innovative products and ground-breaking signal processing technologies. In addition to system level programming tips for TI's DaVinci(TM) technology, TI sessions will give designers a deep dive into the Serial RapidIO (sRIO) and Message Queue functionality of the TMS320C6455 digital signal processor (DSP).

There will be a TI DSP Third Party Network Pavilion on the conference floor, showcasing a variety of demonstrations based on TI DSP technology and third party software. Clarity Design, Green Hills Software, Lyrtech Signal Processing, On2 Technologies, Spectrum Digital and Xilinx will all be present in the pavilion.

GSPx aims to address the needs of design engineers working in embedded hardware, embedded software and EDA tools. The GSPx Multi-Core Applications Conference concentrates on multi-core technology specifically for signal and image processing applications. TI THIRD PARTY PAVILION

Clarity Design - Clarity Design is a full-service engineering and manufacturing firm that specializes in DSP designs, low-power portable devices, and wireless technologies. Since 1991, Clarity Design has created cost-effective, highly manufacturable products for audio/video, industrial, security, retail, telecom, embedded control, and defense applications.

Green Hills Software - Green Hills Software will be demonstrating its award winning MULTI IDE for TI's DaVinci technology processors. MULTI allows developers to simultaneously debug programs executing on both the ARM and DSP cores of TI's DM644x processors with full awareness for INTEGRITY, Linux and DSP/BIOS(TM) kernels.

Lyrtech Signal Processing - Lyrtech is the one-stop supplier for the electronic design, prototyping, manufacturing and delivery of a full range of value-added signal processing solutions, ranging from off-the-shelf DSP/FPGA development platforms to turnkey projects and electronic manufacturing services (EMS). Lyrtech will showcase its latest platforms, including the ADAC-Master III: a high-speed, high-precision, dual-channel A/D and D/A conversion board that can be used either as a stand-alone module or as a mezzanine daughterboard.

On2 Technologies - On2 Technologies, the video compression provider to Adobe, Skype, XM and others provides its codec technology for internet streaming, digital broadcast, VoIP, and mobile streaming. At GSPx, On2 demonstrations include VP6 encode/decode for various TI DSPs and mobile processors.

Spectrum Digital, Inc. - Spectrum Digital, Inc. designs, develops and markets design tools for digital signal processors and high performance microcontrollers. These products include scan path emulators, debuggers, evaluation modules, and application specific hardware. Spectrum Digital will be demonstrating its new XDS560R USB JTAG emulator and the TMS320DM6446 Digital Video Evaluation Module (DVEVM) based on DaVinci technology.

Xilinx - Xilinx(R) will demonstrate new functionality in its System Generator for DSP design tool that allows users to interface a TI DSP processor to a Xilinx FPGA co-processor. The demonstration features a TI DSP processor calculating and loading new coefficients into an adaptive RLS filter running on a Xilinx Virtex(TM)-4 FPGA.
